Content standards
Explain the quality and responsibility expectations for submitted content.
These guidelines keep CRY DIGITAL Media a safe, fair and rights-respecting home for artists, labels and creators everywhere.
Content, rights, account and platform-readiness standards.
VISUAL 36 MOTION READYCRY DIGITAL Media is a global distribution platform built for independent artists, labels, creators and entertainment rights-holders. These Community Guidelines define acceptable use of our services, the standards we hold for all content delivered through our network, and the responsibilities of every member of the CRY community. By uploading, distributing or monetizing content through CRY DIGITAL Media, you agree to comply with these guidelines in full.
You must own or have the legal right to distribute all content you upload. This includes the Master recording, composition, artwork, and any sampled or licensed material. CRY DIGITAL Media never claims ownership of your catalog — you retain 100% of your rights. Uploading content you do not have the right to distribute is a breach of these guidelines and may result in takedown, account suspension or termination.
The following content is strictly prohibited on CRY DIGITAL Media: (a) Unauthorized copies, bootlegs or pirated material; (b) Content that infringes third-party copyright, trademark or publicity rights; (c) Hate speech, incitement to violence or discriminatory content; (d) Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, reported to authorities; (e) Explicit content distributed without appropriate labeling; (f) Misleading metadata, fake artist profiles or chart manipulation; (g) Content designed to defraud, phish or deceive listeners or platforms.
All releases must use accurate, non-deceptive metadata: correct artist name, title, genre, language, and regional information. Manipulating metadata to misrepresent ownership, genre or chart eligibility violates these guidelines. CRY DIGITAL Media validates ISRC codes and may correct or reject releases with inaccurate or conflicting metadata.
CRY DIGITAL Media operates proactive anti-piracy measures including fingerprinting, Content ID matching and takedown automation. We protect your catalog from unauthorized re-uploads and monetize claims on your behalf where eligible. If you believe your content has been infringed, report it through our Anti-Piracy channel and we will act in accordance with applicable law.
Artists earn revenue from eligible streams, downloads and monetized views in line with each platform's terms. Royalties are reported transparently and paid once your balance reaches the plan threshold. Fraudulent streaming, artificial play manipulation or payola schemes are prohibited and may result in withheld payments and account termination.
We expect all community members to respect platform policies, regional laws and cultural sensitivities. Content that is legal in one territory may be restricted in another; CRY DIGITAL Media applies geographic availability controls at your direction. You are responsible for ensuring your content complies with the laws of the territories where it is made available.
Members must not attempt to compromise platform security, access another user's account, reverse-engineer our systems, or resell distribution access in violation of their plan. Respectful communication with our support team and community is expected at all times.
Breaches of these guidelines may result in: content takedown, release rejection, royalty hold, temporary suspension, or permanent termination. We will notify you where practicable and provide an appeals process. Severe violations, including CSAM or mass infringement, are reported to the relevant authorities without prior notice.
CRY DIGITAL Media may update these Community Guidelines as our services evolve. Material changes will be communicated via our website and, where appropriate, email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
